Spike seen in new COVID-19 cases

LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - The Southern Nevada Health District added 409 new coronavirus cases to Clark County's total on Friday, bringing that total to 65,583.

The virus-related death toll in Clark County rose by 8 to 1,368.

Statewide, there were 77,753 positive cases (up 556 from Thursday) with 1,573 virus-related deaths (up 9).

The daily positivity test rate decreased to 9.4% (from 10%), while the cumulative positivity test rate held at 9.9%.

Hospitalizations of confirmed COVID-19 cases stand at 357 (down 5 from Thursday), with 130 COVID patients in ICU (down 7).
