The generosity of the Las Vegas community will always warm your heart, whether you’re bundled up or going topless for the 20th annual KLUC Toy Drive presented by Venetian Resort and Sands Cares.

After shaking off a rainy opening day and sleeping through the first of 12 cold nights, 98.5 KLUC host Chet Buchanan woke November 30 to find smiling celebs lining up with donations in the NV Energy parking lot (where he is camping out for his long-beloved cause).

The host, perched on a platform 30 feet above the ground, welcomed the new day with a smile as the first guests arrived with gifts that will be distributed by HELP of Southern Nevada.

Pawn Stars celebrity Austin Lee Russell -- better known by his television personality moniker Chumlee – was among the first to arrive just after sunrise was. The History Channel favorite, bundled in a ski cap and hoodie, braved the cold to deliver a $2,500 donation – one of the big monetary donations of the day.

Even Tropicana Las Vegas performer and Last Comic Standing guest star Murray Sawchuck braved the early morning cold for the annual donation effort, bringing along pal “Lefty” to deliver the “Toy Drive Trifecta” – the phrase Buchanan has coined to describe a donation of a toy, gift card, and bicycle.

Just after 8 a.m., a 35-foot limo bus pulled into the parking lot, drawing stares and curious glances from the assembled crowd. As Buchanan and co-hosts Spence and Kayla pondered who could be inside, the bus door swung open, revealing Chippendales stars Ryan Kelsey and Tyler Froelich, carrying 16 bicycles donated on behalf of the show and Vegas VIP Limousine.

“The phrase ‘cut glass’ comes to mind,” Buchanan joked as the two dancers strutted through the parking lot shirtless, wearing Santa hats, jeans, and holiday-themed cuffs.

Tis the season, indeed.
