Mac Miller channels his inner Jason Derulo in his new video “Dang!” featuring Anderson. Paak. Shot on a sound stage decorated with bright pops of primary color, dancers move about as he and .Paak bemoan the difficulty they have in relationships. Visually, the video shares much in common with Derulo’s “Get Ugly,” which dropped in December 2015.

Whether intentional or not, Miller’s colorful video perfectly vibes with the chillness that is “Dang!” Against deep reds, golds and teals, he and .Paak deal with the frustrating experience that they’re simply reliving the same breakup over and over again. They can’t seem to escape the endless loop of their failed love lives.

Opening with .Paak singing on a bed as his lady packs her suitcase to leave, the video returns to that very moment around the halfway mark, repeating everything that happened in the first half to reiterate .Paak’s chorus, “I can’t keep losing you/ Over complications/ Gone too soon/ Wait!/ We was just hanging.”

But things seem to take a turn thanks to the magic of rewind.

“Dang!” appears on Miller’s upcoming album The Divine Feminine, which drops September 16th.
