There’s something you might not know about Flo Rida. He prides himself on sending positivity to his fans through not just his music, but his actions. When he stopped by 92.3 NOW/New York, he told us about his fundraising skills. Recently, Flo participated in the Think Pink Rocks concert, along with several other artists, to help raise money for breast cancer research. His helping hands ticket the fundraising bar up to $1 million.

“They reached out to me the first year and every year since,” Flo said. “I’ve been helping out and definitely it’s an honor and a pleasure to be a part of it. For the most part, anything that I can add to in a most positive way, you know?”

Flo is known to really connect with his fans through Twitter, Facebook and even through plain old telephone. Flo makes sure to re-tweet fans, and he even gives out his personal cellphone number whenever he can.

“All the social sites come into play when you’re trying to reach your fans,” he said. “From day one I’ve been giving out my cell phone number, so, I mean, that always helps.”

His newest album Wild Ones, which features the hit songs “Good Feeling,” “Wild Ones” and “Whistle,”dropped on July 3rd. Flo said he was glad the first single released from this album was “Good Feeling,” since the late Etta James co-signed on him doing the record.

“I was watching Cadillac Records with Beyonce playing Etta James almost every day on my iPhone,” he said. “Then, all of a sudden, I get a record with Ms. Etta James. It’s definitely a dream come true as far as collabos.”

Flo Rida is already looking towards the future. When not filming music videos for future singles — he’s been busy filming as many music videos as he can before he goes on tour — he’s in the studio making new music and remixes to release as soon as possible.

“As of right now, I’m trying to shoot as many videos off the album as possible, because I look forward to each record being a single,” Flo said. “I put [in] a whole lot of work, you know, sleepless nights, sometimes even not changing my clothes. They’d have to kick me up out of the studio when completing this album. Sometimes recording in hotel rooms all over the world and, I mean, it’s definitely been a great journey and look forward to everybody supporting it.”

In the future, Flo says he’d be interested in collaborating with fellow pop artists like Beyoncé, Outkast and even Kid Rock, a friend of Flo’s.
