Ice Cube plays a major role in west coast Hip Hop. With songs such as “It Was a Good Day” and “I Rep That West,” the rapper has maintaned his title as one of the top and most inspirational rappers out of Southern California.

Marking the 20th anniversary of the infamous L.A. Riots, Ice Cube took the stage at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles to remind fans of the music that made a true impact those times. The rapper expressed to MTV News how powerful music can be by saying:  “I think music has always had the power to change, heal, bring understanding and bring people together.”

With music always being an outlet for expression and passion, the rapper gave details towards his new album. He will title it “Everthing Is Corrupt” and his sons OMG and Doughboy will have major features in the project. When asked what to expect on the album, Ice Cube had the following to say: “It’s just really hardcore West Coast hip-hop — what I do. I don’t think changing the formula is what should be done. I think it’s all about do what you do best and give the people what they want.”

Ice Cube also discussed upcoming projects which include a series with FX, an N.W.A. biopic, and the highly anticipated fourth installment of the hit movie “Friday.”
